Poster Presenter Instructions

Set Up Time:

Poster setup will take place 7:30 - 8:30 AM on Saturday, November 16th in the Marshall Student Center Ballroom. You must be present during the designated time to set up your poster.

*Your poster location number will be given to you prior to the conference as well as communicated again during registration check in and posted HERE when available. Posters will be grouped within their respective categories.


Breakdown Down Time:

Poster breakdown will take place at 7:30 PM on Saturday, November 16th in the Marshall Student Center Ballroom. You must be present during the designated time to break down your poster. If you are unable to attend the breakdown time, you may assign someone else to assist. All posters still displayed after 7:45 pm will be taken down and disposed of.


Lunch / Poster Session:

  • The Lunch Poster Session will be held from 12:00 - 2:15 PM in the Ballroom.

    • Judging for poster awards will occur during this session. *All judges will be given a folder at the start of this session with further instructions.

    • Those that are presenting posters, as well as Poster Judges, will be given access to the lunch buffet first to ensure everyone has an opportunity to eat. An announcement will be made at the start of judging.

Reception / Poster Session:

The Reception will be held 5:45 - 7:30 PM in the Ballroom. Any judges that were unable to complete their judging during lunch will finish their scoring during the reception.



Posters must be printed portrait format (vertical) to fit in the designated

space on the poster board. Mounting materials will be provided.

  • Your poster will be displayed during both poster sessions.

  • Please plan to be present for both sessions.

  • Please ensure you follow the poster size guidelines, 3 ft wide x 4 ft high

  • Any posters in a horizontal format will not be displayed

Poster Contest Rules:

Poster presenters must attend both poster sessions on Saturday, November 16th as well as the Closing and Award Remarks session on Sunday, November 17th (1 – 2 PM) to be eligible to receive the award.

  • Poster must be placed on boards by 8:30 AM on Saturday, November 16th.

  • Judging will take place on Saturday, November 16th during the lunch session.

  • Text on poster should be sufficient size for ease of distance reading



Each session category will have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place certificate winner. 


Poster categories are as followed:

  • Nanoscale Drug Delivery

  • Nanomaterials / Devices

  • Nanoimaging, Gene & Cell Technology, and Microfluidics

  • Nanotechnology for Sustainable Environment, Agriculture, and Food Safety

  • Nano-Bio Technology, Tissue Engineering, and Nanopharmaceutics

  • Nanoelectronics & Other


There will be a total of three (3) "Best NanoFlorida 2019 Poster Award" in 1st, 2nd, 3rd place. These awards will be VISA gift cards in the amount of $100, $75, $50.


Should a tie occur, the entire group of judges will compare posters to make a determining factor as to which poster will take lead.

There will be 2 poster sessions on Saturday, November 16th in the Marshall Student Center Ballroom.

All posters must be vertical with the dimensations of 36 inches in width and 48 inches in height
